Seeing Hanson for the first time

Most of the people who know me probably know that I am a big fan of Hanson. I don't care what they say about it but to me, Hanson is not just all about the MMMBop.

I was a big fan since MMMBop and so when they announced that they're going to have a concert in Manila last 2004,  I literally begged my mother to go with me. However, due to some circumstances, I was not able to go. My mom told me then that the next time they come here, she will come with me and watch them live. SO I held on to that promise. And waited...

Until some time in November 2011 when I woke up early in the morning and saw on Facebook that they are coming back again in Manila on March 31, 2012! My, my! I couldn't go back to sleep after that. I was so excited because that was my birthday but then I knew that I wouldn't be able to go again because I'll be going to England to study a month before that time. Days passed and I started to feel sad about it and even thinking of asking to start on September 2012. But my friend told me not to be sad and told me to go on as she believe that I will see Hanson someday. Once again, I held on to that thought. And waited...

Until June (?) of 2013 when Hanson announced that they will have Anthem (their new album) European Tour. I checked the dates and alas! There was a date in London! I got tooo excited and I promised myself that whatever happens, I WILL GO. Before tickets went on sale, I researched about how IndigO2 looked like so I know what type of ticket I will buy. Then I learned that standing is the best option for me because I will get to see them closer. I bought two tickets and I told my boyfriend (now, my husband) that he will come with me. No questions asked. heh.

On the day of the concert, December 8, 2013 (that was Sunday), I went to London and later did I found out that The Walk was happening on that day. I was too late!!!! I could have gotten closer to them and chat with them for a bit! :( I didn't linger to that thought for too long because I don't want to feel sad. I wanted that night to be magical!

My husband and I was on the queue by 6pm and they let us in at 7pm. The show started at 8pm with their guest, Sion Russell Jones. And then it was followed by Hanson. When I saw them for the first time, I couldn't believe it. I just told myself "this is it!" I was so happy. Words could not describe how happy I was. I was just so in love with the music and I could not believe that I am hearing the songs I listen to on my iTunes, iPod or iPhone LIVE! And let me just say, that they sound so incredible live! It's like I'm listening on their recorded album. That's how awesome they are! I wanted to take more photos but my iPhone makes it a bit impossible to take a clear photo of them. And anyway, photos won't help me capture their performance of the song, so I take videos instead.  Sometimes, the song they perform is just too wonderful that I just want to listen and sing along with them and taking a photo or video is not an option. :)

Here's the setlist on that show!

1. Fired Up (where I got really fired up!)
2. I've Got Soul
3. Where's The Love (brought me back to the 90s)
4. Scream and Be Free
5. Tragic Symphony
6. Thinkin' 'Bout Somethin'
7. This Time Around
8. On and On
9. Penny and Me
10. With You In Your Dreams (where I became very emotional and teary-eyed)
11. Heaven (Bee Gees cover)
12. For Your Love (Isaac's solo) (been hoping that Ike will sing this)
13. Call Out My Name (Zac's solo)
14. Weird (Taylor's solo)
15. Juliet (Zac on piano!)
16. Already Home (where I got high because of its melody and everything. I love this song!)
17. Waiting For This
18. A Minute Without You
19. MMMBop (I've been dreaming of hearing this song live)
20. Get The Girl Back
21. In The City
22. Lost Without Each Other (thumbs up!)

Encore:

23. Merry Christmas Baby
24. Run Rudolph Run (Chuck Berry cover)

It was a good 2 hour show. I wanted more and I'm pretty sure that it was not only me who wanted more. When the show ended, it was like I'm on a high. My husband asked me if I was happy and I said I was more than happy. I told myself that I will go to their future shows. And also try The Walk. :)

Week long holiday

Whoa! It's been months since I last wrote for my blog and I am inspired enough today to write about my holiday trip next week. It's not just another holiday trip somewhere in England or the United Kingdom. I am going out of the country to Poland!!! :) As all of you don't know, I already have a boyfriend and we've been together for almost 4 months now. He is Polish and last April, he said that he has to go to Poland to do some important things and mentioned that I can come with him. As soon as he said that, I instantly want to go. I've always wanted to travel and when he said that, I believe that it's the start of my traveling escapades with someone I love. I processed my visa, insurance, plane tickets and other things that needs to be processed. It wasn't easy. There were times when I was already giving up because of some problems with collecting all the requirements for my visa. We almost cancelled the trip but each time it happens, it seems like God is doing something to make sure that we travel together. And just yesterday, I got my visa after the visa people called me and told me to come to the embassy. :)

Whilst in the train, I couldn't help but think of my holiday trip with my boyfriend. This is something for me because I will be going to where my boyfriend grew up and I'm gonna meet his family which makes me so nervous and he'll take me to places near his hometown. I find it romantic and sweet. I didn't expect that this will happen in my life. Just last year, I was kind of moaning to my friend how come I don't have a boyfriend and look now! I have a boyfriend and I'll be traveling with him and experiencing new things with him. :) I feel like I'm in my own chick flick movie. Meeting a foreign man in a foreign land, getting together as a couple, visiting and meeting the family and the like. It's surreal for me. But I am pretty much excited. I am just really, really nervous to meet his family. I am his first foreign girlfriend (and hopefully the last girlfriend.. teehee!) and it will be new to all of his family. Also, his mom and dad are expecting me and that makes me really weak in the knees. I have never ever met the family of my ex-boyfriend so all this is new to me. My mom's advice is "be good!" Ha ha!

We'll be leaving on the 19th of June and I want to start packing now! LOL! I am starting to think of what things to bring, what clothes, dresses and shoes to bring and some other stuff. You can tell that I'm excited because it's all I think of everyday since I got my visa yesterday. And my boyfriend and I talk a lot about it because I always start the conversation about it. He said he's gonna take me to Krakow as well. He studied in a university in Krakow and I couldn't wait to go there. Perhaps I'll start to search places to go near his hometown where we can go together. :)

This is going to be a very memorable trip for me and for him. I remembered I told him once before we started to process my visa that I want us to have a holiday trip together. I don't know if he still remembers that but after like a week of saying that, he said that I can come with him to Poland. :)

6 more days to go and I am so excited! I can't wait to start packing on Monday!

Last 7 days...

So.. I'm leaving next Monday! And I only have 7 days left to do some things before I depart. For today, mum and I shopped for things that I still need. And that's pretty much it. Also, I asked her to teach me to cook Adobo. It's a Filipino dish. And I found out that it's very easy to cook Adobo. Yep. I just found out earlier this evening. hahaha! Whilst cooking, I was also starting to pack my things. It was crazy! I thought I exceeded the luggage weight limit and it turns out that I still have a lot of kilos to fill! It's amazing. I was amazed by my luggage. I swear, it's magical! haha!

I also watched Bridesmaids today. And I didn't like it. After an hour of watching it, I feel sad for Kristen Wiig's character so I skipped to some scenes and then deleted the file. heh. I thought it's a comedy but I seldom laugh whilst watching it. I wasted my time downloading and watching it. I'm sorry. But... it's my experience. So..

I'm pretty tired right now. I guess I'll sleep after this... or not.. I don't know. But I'm really sleepy. I am going somewhere again tomorrow and it's pretty tiring. I'm out everyday since I found out that I'm leaving on the 30th.. -__-

8 DAYS!

Here comes the single digits! 8 more days before I depart for Britain! :)

This morning, I went to the church and then watched SNL, Grey's Anatomy and The Secret Circle when I got home and waited for 5pm to come. Then at 5pm, I went out to see my friends (closest friends. Although not all of them) from High School. We talked and I pretty much wanted our meeting to be a 'normal' one. But of course, a little 'drama' can't be avoided since I'm going away. Of course they are happy for me but at the same time they are also sad because I'm leaving them. One of them even told me how her reaction was when she got my text saying that I'm going to Britain. She told me that she just woke up when she read my text that day and she went to work with a sad face. >.< Anyway, our date went great! They even want to have a part 2 of it and I guess I'll be seeing them Thursday this week. That'll be the last time that I'll see them before I leave. And I can already imagine what's going to happen on that day. hehe!

Aaah! I'm going to miss them, really. It makes me smile when they told me some things that reminds them of me. Like Hanson. I know it's not a big deal but they know that I'm a big, big fan of them. And they told me that they also remembered me during Prince William and Kate's wedding last year! I don't know.. I am actually 'touched' by it. These things remind them of me and for some reasons, I am happy about it. Makes me think I still have my real and true friends. WHOOPSOKAY! I don't want to be very dramatic right now. I'm avoiding all the sadness because I don't want to be sad. Lately, I've been feeling sad because I remember that I'll be leaving my family and my friends. MY family. My Mom. My brother. We've been very close since my cousin moved out of the house and it's just the 3 of us living in this house. I'm going to miss them so much. And my friends too! We've had a rough patch last year but we managed to put it all behind us (though sometimes, I don't think some of them have put it behind). But really, I'm soooo going to miss them. I'm acting all happy around them because I don't want to cry in front of them. I think I might get teary eyed at the airport and I don't want that to happen. -___-

Okay. I have to stop now.

Oh by the way! Happy Chinese New Year! I am no Chinese but there are a lot of Chinese living here in my country and our President declared a holiday tomorrow because of that. :D

9 DAYS LEFT.

Today's a Saturday and I thought I could sleep all morning since I slept late last night. But I woke up.. no.. My mum woke me at 9am and YES! I was still sleepy at that time. I think I slept at around 2am. Anyway.. we went to go to the clinic to get my laboratory results but we still have to go back on Monday. Then, we went to my aunt's house.

Whilst there, I played with my 3 year old niece. She's warming up to me. It's a bit sad though because I am about to leave in 9 days. Anyway, my other aunt (my mum's youngest sister) was being dramatic again. I was eating and she was beside me and she said that she's going to miss me and she's saying goodbye already. I told her that I'm still here. haha. I'm trying to avoid the sad stuff about me leaving because I can't help but think about it when I'm alone in my room and I get sad and..yeah..sad... My aunt (my mum's oldest sister and sibling) decided to have a bon voyage party for me next week, the 29th of January, at her house. And every one of them (all my mum's siblings, my cousins and nieces and nephew) will be there. AAHHH! I hope they won't make me cry.

My aunt and uncles gave me tips on what to do with the packing and the staying in the airport thing and I have never seen them that concerned about me. Actually, I am the first one in our family to travel ALONE and live in another country without any relatives. So I guess that explains their concern on me. My uncle also told me to not drive anymore during my last week here in my country. I don't know why. So I questioned what he said ( not aloud. hehe) and when I was driving home, I got pulled over by a traffic officer and temporarily confiscated my license. -___-  It wasn't my fault actually. My mum told me to turn right so I did and I know that I didn't violate any fucking traffic rules because the traffic lines aren't solid lines when I turned. Sometimes, the judgment of the traffic officers here in my country aren't right. I wanted to tell them to go monitor those public vehicles. Their drivers most certainly violate a lot of rules. So anyway, I was mad at my mum that time. The moment we got home, I went into my room and watched The Change-up to change my mood. And it did changed my mood. And now I kind of realized that I should've never questioned what my uncle said. Look, I can not drive on my last week here because my license is temporarily confiscated. I can get it by Wednesday according to that officer. *rolls eyes* but still! -__-

I'll be seeing some of my highschool friends tomorrow! :D For now, I'm going to watch a movie. :D

9 DAYS. 9 DAYS. OMG. OMG. OMG.

Date with my favorite TV shows

Ah! It was a tiring day. I was at the gym this morning and I joined the aero kickboxing class. It felt good. I also abused the abdominal curler apparatus. heh. :) After that, mum and I ate. And then we went to my agency to pay for the plane fare. Then, to another mall in Ortigas to have my camera fixed. I can get it next Saturday. I can't not have a camera when I leave. I have to take pictures while I'm in England. hehehe.

We got home at around 2:30pm and I slept because I know that I'll be going out with "Frodo" and "Bilbo" tonight. But then, Bilbo told me that Frodo hasn't slept yet since yesterday and I was pretty tired too even if I slept this afternoon. Then he decided to just cancel our date night since me and "Frodo" are tired. It just sucks though because I won't be able to see them before I leave. But I can't do anything about it anymore. *sigh* So now, I'm just going to have a date with all my favorite TV shows. New Girl, then Glee then The Secret Circle and Grey's Anatomy. :D GREAT FRIDAY NIGHT! :D

Oh! I also got my plane ticket today. I'll be leaving ont the 30th at 5:45pm and I'll arrive in London at 6:20am, the 31st of January. :D I also received my welcome week schedule at BNU. I am looking forward to the campus tour. :D

I ONLY HAVE 10 MORE DAYS! AAAAAAH!!!

♫ Like a virgin, touched for the very first time! ♫

Okay. I only have 11 days left before I leave my country. And today, I went to the gym, then had my medical and laboratory exam.

This is going to be a.. sensitive and personal blog post and well.. you see, I'm documenting my last 2 weeks here in the Philippines and I just want to remember what happened on this day.

I went into the clinic with my mum and the clinic assistant there assisted me to what I'm going to do since I'll be having my medical and laboratory exam. It was okay at first. I was with the medical technologist, I gave him my urine specimen and he withdrew blood from me (of course) for the CBC, Hepa B and other tests which requires my blood. As usual, he checked for my brachial vein and he seemed to have a little problem because maybe my vein there is too small. Anyway, he tried it and no blood came out. He tried again by moving the needle in a different direction (but inside the "vein") but still, no blood came out. That just means that he didn't hit the vein. So he had to withdraw the needle from my skin and look for another vein. He chose the carpal veins. The veins at the back of our palms. My veins there are pretty visible and it would be easy to draw blood from there. And finally, he succeeded. :) It hurts a little, though. -_-

After that, mum and I ate and then we went back into the clinic afterwards. The clinic assistant told me that I still have one more test so I waited there. I know that the test's name is Gram Stain but I have no idea what the doctor will do to me. After about 5 minutes of waiting, they called me in to the examination room and the assistant put the gown over my clothes and told me to remove my pants and underwear. I was shocked and my face gave it away. She said it again and then I finally removed my pants and underwear. It was pretty awkward because the doctor was already in the examination room but what the hell.. he's a professional and so am I and I know how this works. After I removed them, I asked him (the doctor is a he!!!) what he's going to do. He told me that he's going to get secretions. Then my eyes flew over to the side and I saw a SPECULUM. A. VAGINAL. SPECULUM. And then I understood what's going to happen next. SO, I acted cool but deep inside I was panicking... a little. He and the assistant told me to lie down on the examination table/chair  or whatever you call it, and they draped me and waited for the speculum to cool down. After about 10 minutes, the procedure started. And holy crap. It fucking hurts!!! It can be seen by my facial expression. I'm a virgin so it is expected that my down there is still tight and my hymen is still intact. I actually felt my hymen tear when the doctor sort of forcefully pushed the speculum and it feels like I wanted to pee so baaaaaaad and it also hurts at the same time. I dugged my nails into the skin of my fingers. I usually do that whenever I know I'll experience something painful. But the pain of having something inserted into your vagina is greater. I looked at the assistant and she had the look of concern and support for me. It really hurts. And then I suddenly thought of having sex. And it kinda scares me now because well.. of what's been happening to me at that moment. But then I thought... you have to be really horny and wet to minimize the pain whilst having sex, right? And at that moment, I was not horny or wet so it's really painful. HAHA! Funny because I can still think about that while I'm in pain. Anyway.. I think it lasted for 3 minutes. After that, I bled. grah. It's because of my residual period. I had my period last week and..yeah.. I think it's from there because the doctor also asked me if I have my period now. After that, the assistant gave me tissue to wipe off the blood and it's a good thing that I'm a nurse. I didn't freak out because of the blood and it's as if nothing happened to me. After that, I put on my underwear and jeans and went out of the examination room. My mum asked me what happened and I told her "that speculum hurts!" She was shocked. She asked me if I was alright and I assured her that I am fine. She also asked me if I spread my legs. :)) It's actually a ridiculous question. How can the doctor insert the speculum if I don't spread my legs. HAHAHA! Anyway, after that I feel weird walking. Everything about my lower extremities feels weird. I don't even feel like I'm a virgin. HAHAHA.

So.. yeah. It's a very personal and sensitive and too much information post but.. my blog is my diary, alright. And as I've said, I want to remember my remaining 2 weeks here in my country. And.. if ever I do have sex, I won't be blogging about it. heh. That's just too much. :)) What I experienced today is just like having your first Brazilian Wax. :))

Now I'm going to eat dinner and then watch movies after.

11 more days...

P.S.

It's kind of funny because yesterday, an old lady asked me what my number is (I blogged about it yesterday. Check my previous post). And today, I experienced having something inserted into your vagina and it's making me laugh. hahaha! It's a little 'related.' haha!

12 DAYS LEFT

It has been a very busy Wednesday for me. I woke up at 6am but I got up at 6:20ish. I was sooo sleepy but I had to get up because I had to renew my professional license as early as now.

I arrived at PRC at around 9am. I filled out the form, passed the requirements, pay the fees, had my picture taken and they told me that I can claim my renewed license at 1:30-2:00 pm. I finished processing my application at 9:30am. bugger! I thought I can claim it by 11am. Oh well. Anyway, I went home after that. I'm not going to wait at PRC for 4 hours. Besides, I'm itching to clean and trim my toenails... and that's what I did when I got home.

After that, I accompanied my mom to the bank. We paid the remaining fees for my tuition fee. While waiting for her to finish her transaction, and old lady beside me asked me, "Miss, what's your number?" I told her that I'm not in line and I'm just waiting for my mum. Later on, I realized what she asked--in a 'pervy' kind of way-- and smiled. hahaha! It's kinda funny if you think about it in a 'pervy' way. You know.. an old lady asking ME what my number is. I would've told her that she's had a lot more than I am. BAHAHAHA. How immature of me.. Okay.. moving on.. I went back to PRC and claimed my renewed license. I didn't look as beautiful as my first picture in my first license. HAHAHA! But I'll get used to it. :))

Tomorrow, I'm going to the gym and then have my medical exam. DEFINE BUSY. Then on Friday, I'll be at the gym in the morning, then to the agency. And then at night, I'll be meeting my 2 friends, "Bilbo" and "Frodo." If you read my blog post last December, you'll know who they are. ;)

13 DAYS LEFT.

So.. today is Tuesday, the 17th of January and I only have 13 more days before I set foot to British soil. :D As a matter of fact, I dreamed that I was already at the airport UNPACKED and I was panic-packing there before we depart. Then, I met someone and we were talking about connecting and direct flights to London. It was weird! haha!

Anyway.. Mum and I went to the mall today to start buying the things I need. Most important of them all is the luggage. We bought one this afternoon and... I realized that having a stroller bag is not advisable to grade school students (particularly 1st-3rd grade), at least, for me. Of course they won't be having a luggage as their school bag but really.. I don't know why I LOVED having a stroller bag then. It pulls my arm away and then I have to pause before going up or down the stairs to lift the bag. Hassle. hrhr. (Okay. That was random. ^^)

After the luggage buying, we strolled the mall and looked for stores which sells coats. We've been to Zara, Topshop, DP, took a peek at Gap then we went into Debenhams. I don't intend to buy trench coat YET so I was actually looking for a shorter coat. Then we found a black coat. At least I think it's a coat. But I am searching online right now and it says that it is a jacket. Aah! I don't know what it is. It looks like a coat to me. Whatever. And then I had it fit and damn! I was perspiring whilst fitting it. Cloths are thick and it was really hot (well that's because I live in a tropical country and it's not very cold right now even if it is January and January is one of the cold months we have). I kind of understand now why people who experience winter doesn't like winter. hehe. And then we also bought boots. It's cute actually. The color is grey and I am excited to wear it. :D

Those were what we bought first. The must-haves. I believe it's still winter in England when I arrive there and I need those. My remaining 2 weeks would be a series of shopping for essentials. :) OH! I need  some school supplies, too. heh. I'm back to being a student.

Amazing Monday

This morning, I got up and made pancakes. I was supposed to make them last Saturday but then my mum cooked spaghetti and the kitchen's too crowded and I got lazy. heh. Anyway, it was strawberry flavored and it was yummy! Not to be biased but it's true. My cousin and aunt says so too. :)

At 12noon, I checked my phone and received a text message from my agency saying that I was granted a visa already and that my flight will be on the 30th of January. I was extremely happy! Since my cousin, aunt and brother were at home, I told them that and they were shocked. Maybe because of the date because.. well, yes. It's 2 weeks from now. But I can not blame the agency because classes will start on February 6 and that's the week after my flight. Actually, I think coming to England (High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire to be exact) a week before classes start would be really okay. Of course I'd be jet-lagged big time and I have to unpack my things and set them to my.. new room/home.. Also, I have to be familiar with my new surroundings-- see the University and the place of my work if possible and tour a little. Maybe go to London, too. Anyway, it's just 40 minutes away from where I'll be.

ANYWAY. I was so excited that I texted my friends and they were all giving me the sad texts and sad emoticon. And as expected, I will be meeting all of them before I leave.  Actually, I don't know how to squeeze thru my schedule right now because I still have lots of things to do. I have to go the PRC and see if I can renew my license as early as now, have a medical exam, pay the remaining fees, buy things I need (y'know.. clothes, shoes.. etc.). Also, I have to go the gym. ;) Must abuse it while I'm still here. ;)

I'll be having busy days ahead.

Happy 2012!

It's 1:55am on the 1st of January 2012 and I'm blogging. Blogging at the start of the year!!! HA! Well, I can't sleep yet so maybe this will help me drain all my energy and sleep after.

It's already 2012!! At least, to some countries like Australia, Japan, Philippines (where I am), Guam, Malaysia, Singapore and other Asian countries. To those countries whose calendars are still set on 2011, well... we are the future. And nothing's changed. No flying cars yet. heh.

My family welcomed 2012 the usual way. We don't really go somewhere else. We just get out of the house, join my grandma, aunts, uncles and cousins, make noise, light some firecrackers and look at aerial fireworks if there's any (and as the years go by, there has been a lot of aerial fireworks that we see in our village). After that, we go back inside our houses and sleep. It's the usual thing and it's become pretty boring for me actually. I want to experience a different kind of celebrating New Year. Like the one's in Timesquare, NY where the ball will drop. Or the one in Sydney, Paris, London... Or if not that, celebrate it with all my friends and their other friends.. And then have someone kiss me at 12mn. (I'm being over-sentimental since yesterday. Don't ask me why. I don't know either.) That. I want that.

I just want things to change this year. And if I celebrate it like that, I have this thought that everything will really change. Maybe it's too movie-like but don't we all wish that too? I know it's not just me. ;)

Wow. This turned out to be a very sappy post. This is what happens when you know that you have to sleep but you can't sleep and so you write some stuff like this. Anyway, all of these are things that has been running in my mind every new year's eve. I feel like I need to write it down for.. emotional release. lolol Alright, I have to end this now. My brain's shutting down and it is evident by all of the things I just typed in the last two paragraphs.

Happy New Year darlings!

♫ A Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! ♫

Christmas is over and New Year is just in a few days. Actually, just 2 more days! I am going to say that I am excited for 2012. I can feel that it's going to be a very great year for me. And maybe for others, too.

2011 has not been very good to me. I've been cranky most of the time because of some factors (better not say it). But it's a part of me and still, there were some things that made this year a good one and I want to remember it. So I'll go back at the start of the year and try to recall what happened to me at that time.

JANUARY 2011- MARCH 2011.

What I did most at this month was learn to drive. Mum was going to buy a car and someone must learn immediately so the car can be used. My uncle and elder cousin taught me how to drive. They even accompanied me and my mum when we bought the car last February 18. And on the last week of February, mum enrolled me in a driving school (although I can already drive, thanks to my uncle and cousin) and on the first week of March, I got my driver's license! Ever since that time, I was the 'driver' of our family (it's just me, my mum and my brother). My brother got his student driver's license (upto now) but he can't still drive alone. This was also the time when my mum allowed me to bring the car to my friend's house but she told me that I am not allowed to go anywhere else except there. But my friends were very pushy and we ended up going to Eastwood City, Libis. hrhr. And lastly, I turned 22 on the 31st of March! Mum and I went to the grocery in the morning and bought a cake and a shirt. Then I went home and celebrated it with my relatives while watching an Azkals game. haha! Oh! I also met people who are fans of Azkals. heehee.

APRIL 2011- JUNE 2011.

Since I was already an Azkals fan at this time, my new found friends and I went to the Meet and Greet with James and Phil Younghusband at Greenbelt 5 last April 2. And really, I HAD FUN. Seeing my football player crush was probably the best gift ever. Not only did I see him (and his brother), but they also signed autographs for me, I was able to hug them both and boy, I won't forget that little 'quiz' for the fans to test if they know the Younghusband brothers. Whoever answers the question right will get a price and the price will be given by either James or Phil. The host asked what is James' favorite movie. I raised  my hand but the host called someone else first. I was actually wishing that he/she (I can't remember) will give the wrong answer and he/she did! hahaha! So I raised my hand again and the host called me and I went closer to the host and answered Titanic. I was right!!! Well, I know I was right. Anyway, James gave me the price and then he pulled me closer for a hug and then kissed me on the cheek. *lefaint* I heard the kiss sound baby! I was in a daze after that and I was smiling from ear to ear. hahaha!
My family on my mother's side also went out on a weekend 'vacation.' We were almost complete and it was fun! We went to a beach in Laiya, Batangas and we had lots of foooooods!!! I even experienced Banana Boat. haha! It was scary and exciting at the same time but I don't think I'll do it again. My cousin accidentally hit my left eye when we were  thrown in the water. :))
Moving on... this was also the time when my love for books was rekindled. See, I didn't had the time to read books when I was in college because of so many things to do as a student nurse and I was lucky I got to read the Twilight  novels (but it was on my senior year). Anyway... It was Holy Wednesday and I went to a book store and bought Fallen. I bought it because the cover looks really good and the synopsis was interesting. I also went off internet for 1 week because it's a Holy Week and I needed something to do (and to forget all the sadness since me and my friends had a falling out). This was also the time when we used our car during the Visita Iglesia and I drove. It was vey tiring. My legs hurt!
On May, we did a lot of preparations for my grandmother's 80th birthday and it was a success! I got to see my grandfather's (my grandma's husband) brothers and sisters, my aunts and uncles and 2nd cousins! I never knew that our family on my mother's side is THAT big.
By the end of the month, I reconciled with my friend. We were... uhm... enemies for over a year and things got better between us. And on June, well.. This was  a sad month. A lot of people passed away at this month and I always ended up going to a funeral. It's been a quiet month. Oh, and I still read. I mean, I don't think I'll ever stop reading since my love for books was rekindled. :)

JULY 2011-SEPTEMBER 2011.

As I recall, nothing much happened during these months. All I did was go to the gym, look for work, and celebrate my brother's birthday. On September, I started attending review classes for IELTS and it was also the same month when I learned that I can study overseas.

OCTOBER 2011-DECEMBER 2011.

I got a new phone. My Sony Ericsson W910i gave up on me. And then, I was still reviewing for my IELTS exam and I filed an exam for November. Pressure's on!
Also, I celebrated (?) Halloween at my aunt's house. This happens yearly. But my role there was just to chaperone my little cousins and niece and nephew as they go trick or treating.
On November, well... Exam month. I am not going into details because I don't want to remember it. haha! But, well.. I am eligible to study overseas. That is what matters! And I am really excited about it. :D :D
This December, I went back to the gym. I gained weight during my review classes so.. I have to burn them all! I also get to see my 2 boy friends after almost a year of not seeing each other. It was fun. Then there's the Simbang Gabi (Misa de Gallo). I am proud to say that I completed it. :D I wasn't able to complete it last year because of reasons and I regret it. I am very happy that I completed it this year.
And this Christmas, we went to my aunt's house...with my mother! She never went there during Christmas and it was a shock to most of my relatives when they saw my mum there. hehe. She's even planning to go there on January 1st! O.O
But what is really memorable for me this month is that my braces have been removed! After 10 years and 8 months of having them glued on my teeth. FINALLY! Later, I'm going back to the dentist to have my retainers. :D Soo excited!!

And there was my 2011. It wasn't really that exciting compared to last year. As I remember my friend, she called this year "uneventful" for her. And I have to agree with her. It was uneventful for me as well but there were still moments that I love about this year. Such as reconciling with my friend (friend for almost 13 years!) I understood what bringing your pride down and forgiveness meant this year. And that is something that I learned.

Looking forward to 2012!

Last Friday Night

Last Friday, I went out with 2 of my best boy friends in the world--I'm not exaggerating. Okay. Maybe a little.. A little more. Anyway, one of them celebrated his birthday and one of them was something more to me (let's call him Frodo. And the other one would be Bilbo. Excuse me for the code names. The trailer of The Hobbit just got out so...). See, we all started out as co-trainees in a hospital over a year ago. There were 15 of us in one shift and I was close to all of them but after our short-lived training, I grew closer to these 2 boys. We hang out, apply for jobs and text/call each other every day. Also, they have seen me at my worst and they didn't go anywhere. They are literally the bestest boy friends I have.

So about Frodo. I really didn't think he'd be that special to me. He was not just the best boy friend. He is something more... special. It all started when some jerk broke my heart (and I will not go into details because it sounds rather cheesy and annoying and I realized how stupid I was) and Frodo and Bilbo were there. But it was Frodo who I talked to a lot and he was the one who listened to my heart broken speeches (which I am now so ashamed of) and he didn't go anywhere. He stayed. So as Bilbo. But Bilbo is more of a brother to me. Going back, I let my walls down every time Frodo and I talked. So I guess he saw the real me. Well, I was really letting him know me even more. I just felt that we have this connection and also, he understands me and sometimes we are both immature (we have the same age, btw). We just get each other. For the passing weeks we were like that. Me ranting, him listening. But he always makes me laugh and the next thing I know is I'm so excited to talk to him on Facebook (even if we are texting like all day!) and it eventually lead to us meeting (the three of us. Bilbo included.) at least twice a week every week, sometimes every other week. And then all I know is that I was looking forward to seeing him and I'm starting to like him. Every time I see him, my feelings towards him gets stronger. I am liking him more and more. D'ya know what I mean? For sure you have experienced this--if you have fallen in love with someone.

Then my friends noticed how close and sweet we both are becoming. They insisted that Frodo likes me too. And I don't want to consider it like that because I am avoiding liking a boy so much that the next thing that can happen is me, falling in love with him and then I'll find out that he doesn't 'love' me the way I love him and boom! I'm trapped again. At that time, I just got out of a trap and Frodo helped me get out of it. I don't want to be trapped again.. Not because of him. So I just enjoyed what we have at that time. As cheesy as it may sound, I treasured the times we spent together. Dear heavens, I even saved his text messages and read it at night!

This went on for 5 months, I think. Then by January this year, it started to fade away. Maybe because we were all busy with our own lives and Bilbo moved so we didn't have the chance to hang out as much as before. We rarely exchange text messages too! I was a bit sad about it but that's how it is. I was glad that they remembered my birthday and demand (YES! DEMAND!) that the 3 of us go out. But it never happened. haha!

We haven't seen each other from January 2011 til last week. And when I saw them I hugged them. I missed them. As for Frodo, I tried to be casual about the hug. When I was with them last Friday, everything was the same. We (Frodo and I) still have those immature moments. And Bilbo (btw, I told him that I like Frodo) made me sit beside Frodo. I don't know if it's intentional or not but I tried to sit beside him but it's like he has this power over the reserved chair beside him which is just for his stuff. So I had no choice but to sit beside Frodo.

There were 2 moments between me and Frodo that I can't stop thinking about. First was when we were at National Book Store and he bought something and had it gift wrapped there. We stayed there for an hour because the ladies who were doing the gift wrapping thing are too slow. Anyway, it's just that.. it's like before. Me and him that close, making fun of other people, picking up holiday greeting cards and reading them and laugh about it just to pass the time. We even argued whether to put a ribbon on the wrapped gift. He wanted to put a ribbon and I said no and I was backed up by Bilbo and their other friend (who joined us) but Frodo wants what he wants. We just shook our heads in disbelief. :))

The 2nd one was before I went home. They didn't want me to go home yet though they know that I can't stay. Frodo pulled me towards them, sort of like dragging, but I resisted. Then the next thing was a blur. He stopped pulling me and I went a little farther away from them and then Frodo walked towards me and hugged me and I think he also pecked me on the cheek. I was shocked. That was the first time it happened. After him, Bilbo did the same then we bid our goodbyes and I promised that I'll see them next year before I set foot on my dream home. Really, I couldn't stop thinking about that. Sometimes I giggle over it before I sleep and then the saying "You never really stop caring or loving someone whom you loved so dearly" applies.

So that's it! I just wanted to let this all out because I think I'm going mad every time I think about this before I doze off. And I hope to God that HE (Frodo) doesn't find this post! Or I'll die.

Two. Months.

I've been planning to study in England and well.. now it will happen. February is the start of the semester next year and this month I'll be arranging other paper works that are needed, visa stuff and payments. Apart from those, I don't have anything to do but bum around.

Since I only have 2 months left, I decided to make some pointers on what to do. I want to spend it productively. :))

  • First, I have to organize my things. I have to sort out the things I STILL need and might bring to England and the things that I don't need and throw away. AND MY BOOKS AND CDs!!! My precious babies.. Surely, I won't be bringing them in England so.. I have to keep them safe.
  • Second, I need to have my camera fixed! I also need a memory card reader. Oh you know, I'm going to take lots of photos while I'm in my dream home. :)
  • Third... I must see some of my friends. Most of those 'some friends' still don't know that my plans in studying in England is now going to happen. Actually, only 1 of them knows that it's finally going to push through and only around 5 of them know about my plans in studying in GBR. hoho! AND.. I am thinking of keeping it a secret to the others. I don't know why. Maybe I want to surprise them or annoy them. It has even crossed my mind to tell them I'm leaving on the day before I leave. hrhr. I know. CRUEL. I just don't want to have dramatic meet ups with my friends and see them sad and all. Especially after all that has happened this year. :)
  • Fourth. SHOPPING!! I live in a tropical country and of course, it's ENGLAND!!! It's cold there. And I'll be flying there in February so the weather is.. cold. I need clothes that will keep me warm when I'm there already. My mum's also going to buy me boots. hrhr.
  • Fifth. Read as much books as I can while I'm still here.
  • Sixth. Download music, movies and tv shows while I'm still here. :D
  • Seventh. Abuse my lifetime gym membership and lose weight! haha!
  • Eighth. Drive. Just drive. Use our car. Go somewhere. I don't care about the parking issues I have here in our street. I'm leaving in February and I want to just drive and drive because I won't be driving in England.
  • Ninth. Watch all the movies I can watch in the cinema.
  • Tenth. Spend mooooore time with my family and relatives. Especially my mom. We barely talked yesterday and today. I don't know if it's finally sunk in that I'm leaving in 2 months and that she's sad or.. I don't know.. Thinking about me leaving her makes me really really sad. Also, after I leave, there's a possibility that my younger brother will leave for U.S. in April or May. So that leaves my mom home alone. My dad is in Japan btw. I'm going to miss her. Whoops! I'm about to weep.

There. I can't think of anything to add anymore and I think these are what I should try to do while I'm still here. I don't want to be sad and all because I'm going to England. It has always been my dream to go there and it will make me happy. Oh by the way, I'll be studying at Bucks New University. They have 2 campuses. One in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire and the other one is in Uxbridge. And it is near London. lalala. I'm just excited. Also, Olympics will be held in London next year as well as the celebration of Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee!

Very. Exciting.

Christmas in September...?

It's September 1st!

I'm quite excited for this month because most (rather.. all) of my favorite TV shows are going to be back! And there are also new TV shows that I am excited to watch. Actually, I have marked my calendar for the month of September with the TV shows' schedules.

Other than the TV shows, another thing I'm excited about (every time September comes) is.. Christmas. I know that you think it's early for that but it's already the start of the -ber months and soon enough, it's already Christmas! Days go by faster when we're on the -ber months. I don't know if it's just me but that's what I noticed. And every time it's September, I started to hear Christmas songs and some of the malls here sell Christmas stuffs already. It's making me even more excited.  Add the fact that I do my own countdown before Christmas. haha!

I guess from the last paragraph you can say that Christmas is my favorite Holiday/Season. (Oh wait! Look what came on shuffle! Do They Know It's Christmas by Band Aid! ha! Even my iTunes is excited for Christmas.. Okay.. Going back..) I love this holiday. Every thing is about giving and love and sharing and happiness and the mood just feels so right. Here in my country, I can say that we love Christmas that we prepare for it early. Like.. September! Some prepare earlier than September. Honestly, Christmas decorations bring this light mood around you when you look at them most especially at night, when Christmas lights are on. I remember last year, it was December and I was watching Glee's Christmas episode (where Sue was the grinch) and I had the lights out in the living room and only the Christmas lights were open. It was a.. happy moment for me. It is very melodramatic, believe me, I know. But it's just how I felt that time and as I've said, Christmas decors (more on Christmas lights) bring this light mood around you where you just feel so happy and thankful and content.

What is even more exciting preparing for this holiday is the shopping. When my mum was still working, she would text me to meet her in the mall and we'll shop together. Not just to buy stuffs for me and for her and for the house but also for her friends. It was fun. You can feel the Christmas rush and it's like... every thing is on sale! Then we'll go home around 8pm or 9pm carrying numerous bags! Fun times. I also enjoy wrapping gifts. It's tedious but I like it. Strange, I know.

And when I am at home, I listen to Christmas songs and watch movies where the setting is in a Christmas holiday (Love Actually!!) or there's a scene in that movie where it's Christmas. Believe me, that will make me happy. :))

See how time will go faster starting this day. Before you know it, the news will already be doing the Christmas countdown and other Christmas-related stuffs, and.. before you know it, you'll find yourself shopping with everyone who hasn't bought gift for their loved ones yet. Christmas rush!

Christmas countdown. 115 days before Christmas!

One Day...

Well.. I was hoping to watch it alone. But my mum seems so shocked at the idea of me watching a movie by myself in the cinema. (good gracious! I'm twenty-two years old, mum!) So, I asked her if she wanted to watch it, too. She asked what it's about and who the actors are. I think it was because 'Anne Hathaway' is in the film that made her want to watch it. So ,yeah, I watched it with my mum.

I was really looking forward to this movie 2 months ago when I read a synopsis of it somewhere, and found out that it's based from a book by David Nicholls, and I had high hopes for this film especially because I read the book just last week (though I bought it weeks ago). Anyway.. We had the perfect seats in the cinema and I prefer if no one sits beside me. :))))

Much to my dismay, there were 2 girls who sat beside me. Actually, I don't really mind if there's someone else sitting beside me. I just don't want my seat mates to be really...chatter-y. Annoyingly chatter-y. And they were!!! I heard the other girl saying to her friend about the movie.. Y'know, something happens every year on that same day stuff. So I assumed she read the book and won't be that... shocked in some scenes (most especially where there are nude parts involved). But she didn't read it. And again, much to my dismay, she was reacting so hard with her friend as if she's read it.I'm so mean, but whatever.I had my period this morning, case closed. They kept on saying (to Dexter. I don't even know if they know Jim Sturgess before this film, or if they have seen other films of his) "OHMYGOD HE'S SO GOOD LOOKING!" Blimey! I've heard them say that countless times! And same with Anne Hathaway "OHMYGOD SHE'S SO PRETTY!"Again, countless times they've said that. It just.. annoys me. Okay, we all know Jim's good looking and Anne's beautiful, but just stop it! Can't you just watch? And oh, yes! Their reactions!!!! They get too carried away and can't contain themselves. They'll hit each other, I mean, on the arm or on one's thigh. And.. they are so prude (from what I uhm... observe) I mean, REALLY!!! They were so shocked seeing nude stuffs in that film. as in shocked! -__- They also kept on talking about love stuffs.. 'She lived with Ian for years but then she didn't love him? Ouch.' Emphasis on the OUCH. Best not to comment on that. Basically, they're just chattery friends who can't contain themselves who also happens to sit beside me. I find myself rolling my eyes at some of their comments.

BUT... I enjoyed the movie. It was a good thing that David Nicholls was the uhm.. screenplayer..? (Is it screenplayer or just screenplay? whatever.) But y'know, some of the scenes in a particular year was really short. I'm like 'That's it?' But it was all good. Anne Hathaway's accent is fine with me and she did good portraying Emma Morley. Her.. uhm... SPOILER ALERT! Her.. demise was really tragic. I know it's gonna happen and that's what I've been excited to see in this film--how they're gonna do that tragic scene. And boy...it left me shocked and shattered and sad. Just like how I felt when I read that part in the book. And for Jim Sturgess... Well.. he was a part of why I wanted to see this film. I love this yet another English man. I loved him in 21 and in Across the Universeand.. I just had this feeling that he'll do really great in this film. And so he did!! And.. YEAH. HE'S SO FREAKIN' GOOD LOOKING, OKAY? Fit for Dexter, the Golden Boy (according to Ian Whitehead). He was so great acting out Dexter's ways.. being drunk and drugged and high and wasted.. Just as how I've imagined Dexter in the book. And Ian!!! OHMYGOD. I didn't expect that Ian would look that way. He looks kinda funny to me.  I also didn't expect to see Georgia King there as Suki. I was like 'OOH! SHE WAS IN WILD CHILD AND TORMENTED!!" lolol. And Sylvie.. boy, do I hate that character. And yeah.. she was okay. I mean, Romola Garai (Sylvie) really made me hate that character even more. Convincing. Well done.

So.. that was what happened to me this afternoon. My One Day movie experience! :))
OH! I just would like to share this quote from Ian Whitehead when he spoke with Dexter.. God, this was really touching.
She made you decent, and in return you made her so happy, so happy, and I will always be grateful to you for that.
I remembered that in the book, Ian wrote Dexter a letter and I cried on that part. It was the most touching part ever. I just couldn’t cry at the cinema when I heard that.
And… lastly.. I found this gif here in tumblr. To whoever made this gif, well, hi! And thanks for making this gif. I love this gif.
And.. A lot more gifs..

P.S.
This film does have a lot of lessons to teach us. Particularly, you know… Dexter’s life. Good God, this book and film will always be one of my favorite! Go read it!
Thanks for reading. (that is if someone really read this thing.)
gifs are not mine.

Short blurts

It's that time of the month again where my emotions are heightened. I'm having "THOSE" times again. I feel lazy. My bossoms hurt. I just want to eat... and eat... and eat... and be a couch potato.

Today, I woke up at 9:35am. I slept last night at 12mn--past 12mn. So waking up at past 9am is just okay. I ate breakfast, turned the TV on and passed on the E! Channel. I am just so happy that our cable now has this channel. I tuned in and I was surprised that they have that great line-up. I mean... I KNOW that E! Channel has great shows but I never thought that their line-up will be THIS great that I tuned in up to 3pm. And now, I'm watching Glee Season 2 re-runs. The episode wherein Kurt's dad had a heart attack and Finn have this grilled Cheesus and it's really making me hungry right now. So... I'm finishing this blurt fast and I'll be a couch potato. The lazy song is applicable to me now.

DON'T JUDGE.

"I pledge to read the printed word."

WOW!

It's been a while since I blogged. Actually, I was pretty busy doing nothing but reading. Every week, I am reading something. I have never loved reading so much not until now.

I love to read. I've always loved reading. When I was a kid, my mom would always let me read newspaper and then tell her what I understood. Of course, she'll let me read the easy-to-understand-kind-of-news. I was a kid then! Then, she bought me books. Fairy tale books. Short children stories. AND I LOVED IT. I tried to read everything in that thick book and even re-read my favorite stories because I want to get out of reality and be in the story I'm reading. It's like traveling.

As I was growing up, I ask my mom to buy me some books. I'd settle for Sabrina, the teenage witch books then 'cause I love that show. And every year, in our school, there is a book fair and I'll always look at what kind of books they have. I remember buying Sweet Valley High novels. And remembered hating Libby so much. :)) Then on my 6th grade, I had my very first book report. It should be a classic novel. And I remembered picking up Heidi in the library. From there, I started loving classic novels. And as I entered high school, there were a lot of classic novels we discussed on my English class. And.. I don't know but I'm just fascinated with everything classic. They're all very good, be it music or stories or anything. It's.. great.

As I go along high school, I didn't have the time to buy and read more books. I was busy with school and I am exploring stuffs. It's like there's a lot going on. :)) But when I have the time, I read. BUT.. It was more of fan fictions when I was in High School. I even wrote fan fictions then.

Then I entered College. I REALLY DIDN'T HAVE THE TIME TO READ. Seriously. The only books I read was... Tuesdays With Morrie (book report, Philosophy class), Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's stone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and the Twilight Series when I was in my senior year. That's all. If I was 'busy' in High School, I was dead busy in College.  The only books I get to read are my Nursing books. :/

And now.. I read a lot. I think it is to make up for the 'years' I lost not reading. It all started last April 2011. It was a holy week and before the malls close down on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday, I decided to read something. And then I picked up Fallen by Lauren Kate. From there, I got addicted and on the next week, I bought its sequel, Torment. After that, I researched about that novel, even becoming a fan of it on facebook and then I saw someone said 'The Mortal Instruments series.' I researched for it and I was intrigued by it. So.. I hunted it in the bookstores and I had a hard time looking for it, actually. I kept seeing The Mortal Instruments: City Of Fallen Angels and realized it was the fourth and latest book. Then I found a boxed TMI series. It has the first three books and without a doubt, I purchased it. I didn't go and buy the fourth book but I found a replacement for that. I saw Clockwork Angel and realized that the author of it is also the author of TMI. So that day, I bought the first three books of TMI and Clockwork Angel. By then, I was happy. :)) I was busy reading day and night. But before I started Clockwork Angel, I bought the fourth book of TMI. I was completely happy! :))

After I finished all of those, I kept on researching for more good books to read. I came across My Name Is Memory by Anne Brashares. I was kind of.. curious about this because the lead characters' name is the same with the Fallen Series. Daniel and Luce (Lucy in My Name Is Memory) and they were like star crossed lovers and Daniel knew Lucy for a looooooong time and was in love with her since then and HE never forgets her. I bought it and it was good. Now, I'm waiting for its sequel. I know there will be. It's a major cliffhanger in the end. :)) And after reading that, there came Passion, the third book in Lauren Kate's Fallen series. Before I started reading it, I re-read Fallen and Torment first. :)) And after I read Passion, which is so awesome, I already have Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick. I, again, had a hard time looking for it in the bookstores but.. they're not just about to go out of stock on me 'cause I have to read it. I read it last week and before I finished reading it, I purchased its sequel, Crescendo. I am about to finish it but I figured that it could wait for the night. I enjoy reading at night. It's when my imaginations are really good. :)

There are a lot of good books to read that are in line for me. FIRST OF ALL, I GOTTA HAVE THE HUNGER GAMES TRILOGY. And I know that sooner or later, I'll have it and I can't wait. I don't think it's gonna happen after I finish Crescendo because I have .pdf files of The Vampire Academy (which has 6 books, therefore, I have 6 .pdf files of it) and Halo. mmhmmm.. 7 more! I am just so excited every time I read YA novels. These are the things I missed when I was in College.

STILL TO READ:
The Five People You Meet In Heaven
The Vampire Academy Series
Halo
The Immortal Series
One Day
Across The Universe
Silence
Harry Potter books 4 upto 7
The Super Sad True Love Story
Prophecy Of The Sisters
The Wolves of Mercy Falls Series
Born at Midnight
Divergent

...and a lot more.. :D
