One Day...

Well.. I was hoping to watch it alone. But my mum seems so shocked at the idea of me watching a movie by myself in the cinema. (good gracious! I'm twenty-two years old, mum!) So, I asked her if she wanted to watch it, too. She asked what it's about and who the actors are. I think it was because 'Anne Hathaway' is in the film that made her want to watch it. So ,yeah, I watched it with my mum.

I was really looking forward to this movie 2 months ago when I read a synopsis of it somewhere, and found out that it's based from a book by David Nicholls, and I had high hopes for this film especially because I read the book just last week (though I bought it weeks ago). Anyway.. We had the perfect seats in the cinema and I prefer if no one sits beside me. :))))

Much to my dismay, there were 2 girls who sat beside me. Actually, I don't really mind if there's someone else sitting beside me. I just don't want my seat mates to be really...chatter-y. Annoyingly chatter-y. And they were!!! I heard the other girl saying to her friend about the movie.. Y'know, something happens every year on that same day stuff. So I assumed she read the book and won't be that... shocked in some scenes (most especially where there are nude parts involved). But she didn't read it. And again, much to my dismay, she was reacting so hard with her friend as if she's read it.I'm so mean, but whatever.I had my period this morning, case closed. They kept on saying (to Dexter. I don't even know if they know Jim Sturgess before this film, or if they have seen other films of his) "OHMYGOD HE'S SO GOOD LOOKING!" Blimey! I've heard them say that countless times! And same with Anne Hathaway "OHMYGOD SHE'S SO PRETTY!"Again, countless times they've said that. It just.. annoys me. Okay, we all know Jim's good looking and Anne's beautiful, but just stop it! Can't you just watch? And oh, yes! Their reactions!!!! They get too carried away and can't contain themselves. They'll hit each other, I mean, on the arm or on one's thigh. And.. they are so prude (from what I uhm... observe) I mean, REALLY!!! They were so shocked seeing nude stuffs in that film. as in shocked! -__- They also kept on talking about love stuffs.. 'She lived with Ian for years but then she didn't love him? Ouch.' Emphasis on the OUCH. Best not to comment on that. Basically, they're just chattery friends who can't contain themselves who also happens to sit beside me. I find myself rolling my eyes at some of their comments.

BUT... I enjoyed the movie. It was a good thing that David Nicholls was the uhm.. screenplayer..? (Is it screenplayer or just screenplay? whatever.) But y'know, some of the scenes in a particular year was really short. I'm like 'That's it?' But it was all good. Anne Hathaway's accent is fine with me and she did good portraying Emma Morley. Her.. uhm... SPOILER ALERT! Her.. demise was really tragic. I know it's gonna happen and that's what I've been excited to see in this film--how they're gonna do that tragic scene. And boy...it left me shocked and shattered and sad. Just like how I felt when I read that part in the book. And for Jim Sturgess... Well.. he was a part of why I wanted to see this film. I love this yet another English man. I loved him in 21 and in Across the Universeand.. I just had this feeling that he'll do really great in this film. And so he did!! And.. YEAH. HE'S SO FREAKIN' GOOD LOOKING, OKAY? Fit for Dexter, the Golden Boy (according to Ian Whitehead). He was so great acting out Dexter's ways.. being drunk and drugged and high and wasted.. Just as how I've imagined Dexter in the book. And Ian!!! OHMYGOD. I didn't expect that Ian would look that way. He looks kinda funny to me.  I also didn't expect to see Georgia King there as Suki. I was like 'OOH! SHE WAS IN WILD CHILD AND TORMENTED!!" lolol. And Sylvie.. boy, do I hate that character. And yeah.. she was okay. I mean, Romola Garai (Sylvie) really made me hate that character even more. Convincing. Well done.

So.. that was what happened to me this afternoon. My One Day movie experience! :))
OH! I just would like to share this quote from Ian Whitehead when he spoke with Dexter.. God, this was really touching.
She made you decent, and in return you made her so happy, so happy, and I will always be grateful to you for that.
I remembered that in the book, Ian wrote Dexter a letter and I cried on that part. It was the most touching part ever. I just couldn’t cry at the cinema when I heard that.
And… lastly.. I found this gif here in tumblr. To whoever made this gif, well, hi! And thanks for making this gif. I love this gif.
And.. A lot more gifs..

P.S.
This film does have a lot of lessons to teach us. Particularly, you know… Dexter’s life. Good God, this book and film will always be one of my favorite! Go read it!
Thanks for reading. (that is if someone really read this thing.)
gifs are not mine.
